This album explodes with energy; these are hungry young Beatles. Lennon and McCartney write great songs, like "It Won't Be Long," "All My Loving," "Hold Me Tight,"and my personal fave, "All I've Got to Do," (dig the syncopated, understated drum part!). But the covers, ohhhh, the covers... In "Please Mister Postman" John wails over the close harmony, and George romps through "Roll Over Beethoven" with great spunk. Paul's singing on "Till There Was You" is brilliant (check out the live version performed for the Queen on the 2nd Anthology videotape), as is George's guitar bit. On the last track, "Money," John *very sincerely* explains what he wants. This might be my favorite Beatles album, and yes, I own (and love) them all. Then again, it might not. But it's full of the material they played in Hamburg and, more than any other album (even their first), captures the quintessence of what the early rock & roll days were all about. Go buy it. Go buy 2 or 3.

About The Beatles!

I think The Beatles´ music is great. John Lennon was a good songwriter. Paul McCartney is a good singer. George Harrison is a good guitarplayer. Richard Starkey is good on drums.

For the early Beatles this is a great album!It love "Iy Won't be Long" yeah, yeah, yeah! I really like the part when they sing, "since you left me I'm so alone...". That is the best. All I've got to do" is a preety good song.All my lovin' is aboout as good as #2. Don't Bother me is an Ok song, not one of my faves but very good for George at the time.I don't really like "Little Child".Hold me tight is OK, not one of Lennon and McCartney better songs. I Wanna be Your Man is OK but it could be better. It wasn't there best version. Not a Second time is my fave Beatles song . I love that song so much and for being in the being of the Beatles this is a good album.

Certainly a decent album for the casual listener and, as with all Beatles albums, a must for the strong follower. "With the Beatles" contains mostly light, energetic tunes which, while stereotypical and almost humorous today, were very much cutting edge compositions in their day. The album contains several good remakes and some suprisingly mature serious ballads. All in all, it's a good album.

This is a very good album. My favorite song is Hold Me Tight because I love Paul and I love the way he sings it. But there are other good songs, too. I think this is an acceptional album it contains alot of memorable songs like All My Loving and I Wanna Be Your Man. It's a fantastic collection.

Possibly one of their worst albums because of the shortage of well known hits, with the exception of "All My Loving","I Wanna Be Your Man",&"It Won't Be Long". I'm not saying that it's a bad album, I'm just saying that there's not enough creativity.

The Beatles are and always will be my favorite band in the world, so I like all of their albums. This one is not my favorite, but I still think it's great. It has a womderful exciting feeling to it that the later ones, such as 'Magical Mystery Tour' just don't have, because it was made in the really early days when they were still making the climb to the top. I think my favourite song on here is either 'Hold Me Tight' (there is a quality to that song that I think is really neat; it might be the way the way the bass sounds or something. I really love the bass.) or 'All My Loving' is also one of my favourites (but then, my favourite Beatle is Paul, so I like anything that he sings). Anyway, I think I would give this album a 6.5.
